About Me Continued
amount of studio work: shooting upcoming actors, musicians and
entertainers.
I
put down my cameras in 1985 and did an about face. I
entered a Ph.D. program in the field of Sociology. Though an
important experience, I realized that this wasn’t what I was
suppose to be doing, petitioned for my Masters and left. I
entered a period of reflection; I entered my desert, lost.
In the 90's, I moved to northern
California, volunteered at the local PBS station", and producing their
Community Datebook. Within a short time, I became their Producer Director and their primary graphic artist and
photographer.
Late
90s, I decided to begin my own graphic business,
the Great McGarigal Grafx Company. I took art classes to
improve my graphic work, but instead of achieving that goal, I
found my passion: long missing since my furtive photographic
years. I metaphorically left my
desert and began painting.
My
artwork has been classified as a mixture of neo-abstract expressionist,
with surrealist imagery. If this
sounds Greek it, simply put, these labels mean that I paint what I feel, what
I intuit. My vision comes from my imagination while leaning heavily on
personal experiences. I’ve been
interpreting Supertramp's music into
rhythmic watercolors, and hence, in addition to
the above labels, I am also considered a synthesist.
Within my portfolios, you will find descriptions of various pieces that
better explain the intentions of various projects. My paintings and
etchings have won many awards including several awards of excellence at
the California State Fair.
I
am currently looking for gallery representation and a publisher.
Though I haven’t priced my artwork online at this time, it is for sale. If
interested please contact me.

civilization. Support the arts, support me. Buy a button,
bumper
sticker, tee shirt, mug, magnet or calendar, and I promise that I
will
help to support other up and coming artists.
