About Me
My name is Jane Magarigal. Welcome to my website. You have
entered
into the world of my artistic vision. I am a painter, printmaker
graphic artist and photographer. What I present to you here is my
life's work, beginning in 1973. Old and new projects
are
uploaded regularly, so please keep coming back. I hope you have a
good time.
The concept behind Adopt Starving
Artist website was due to a political art project addressing the loss
of funding for the arts in our schools. The overall design of AASA is the result of this project.
The AASA vending machine, an assemblage, received best in class at
the California State Fair, 2008. My desire is to place working AASA
Vending Machines in contemporary art galleries and museums. It would be great if AASA could actually begin helping
struggling artists. So,
commissions are welcome, and, while you’re at it buy a tee shirt, cup, etc.

lover of photography, I began in earnest to discover my own
photographic expression through the visual world of a lens.
Initially, I shot everything and everyone. My favorite
subjects included people and urban spaces.
I
was associated with the band "Supertramp"--one of the great life
experiences. A friend and fan, I was privileged to be their
exclusive European and British photographer during their 1977 Even In The Quietest Moments tour.
Married
and living in England between 1976 and 1978, I set out to find my next
project. Always camera ready, I discovered the beauty of
the London Underground quite by accident. Traveling to and from the
West End by 'Tube', I took a couple of pictures of some structural
elements. As I watched these images come up in the developer, I
was struck by its beauty. I had found my subject, and, for
the majority of my last year in London, I traveled and shot
underground. Presently I am digitizing this collection.
Coming
back to Los Angeles, I
connected with Bruno Schreck and became his number
one
assistant. Because of his kind and generous nature, I learned
about the studio. Bruno became one of New York's top
photographers. After Bruno left, I dabbled in a fair
